I've always been fascinated with the essential trace element boron, ever since reading about how some horses in Australia recovered from their hoof problems with just additional boron. (But some horses in the same herd required different interventions. Every horse is different, and correcting nutrient deficiencies is not the same as using treatments targeted to specific ailments.) And then talking to a farmer who told me you can't grow alfalfa without supplementing the soil with boron (Virginia USA). (I don't know this is true, just reporting what someone told me).
So this idea of using DMSO to deliver boron directly into the joint where it might be needed struck me as something definitely worth trying for difficult cases. This would be restorative and therapeutic, not just delaying expression of symptoms, like injecting joints with stuff like cortisone. And it's a DIY approach, so you can use it even if you have been fired by all the vets in your area for some reason.
DMSO has been covered extensively by A Midwestern Doctor; let me know if you need a link. I am relying on my smart readers to provide opinions and possibly experience.
I love this post! Thank you!!! 🙏❤️
